Excel Publish and Display Application

 ExPDA has been designed by DTS for ANY organisation that needs to take in real-time data, add value to it, and publish it back out to a set of users, whether internally or externally.  This is all done in the flexible Excel © interface allowing for ease of use and understanding by users.  To see just how easy it is to set up ExPDA click on Configuring ExpDA.

The use of Excel © as a calculation platform is prolific across many different organisations. A lot of people working in all sorts of industries create their own spreadsheets with value added data that they use in their daily work routines and some of these are updated on a regular basis each day as different variables change. Many calculations are also based on real-time market data that is sourced from 3rd party feeds.  Often it is desirable to be able to share this "value added" data with other people within your own organisation or with clients and ExPDA works specifically with Excel to enable users to share their data in real-time with other permissioned users on your network.

Working seemlessly with the Excel "edit" menu any users that have been set up with ExPDA will be able to configure any of the cells within any of their Excel workbooks to broadcast the values from within those cells and these will be available to users that have been permissioned to receive the data. An authorised recipient wil be able to use the same "edit' menu to subscribe to the data and receive updates to that data in real-time whenever the publisher changes the value in the cell or when it is updated automatically as a result of being based on other real-time market data.

ExPDA comprises a suite of components including:

  • Real-time data feedhandlers
  • Real-time forward handlers to co-ordinate the multiple publish/request instructions
  • Real-time data clients
  • Publish and subscribe facilities built into the Excel interface
  • A comprehensive administration module to control who gets access to what data and to log who is using what data for purposes of license compliance.
