Example of F/X Sales using ExPDAExPDA (Excel Publish/Display Application) has been developed by DTS to aid the real time sharing of data across an organisation. Setting up ExPDA is easy to do and is explained in Configuring ExPDA. Here we provide an example of ExPDA sharing and adding business specific value to foreign exchange information. The Problem: The Solution: Real-time market data is sourced from single or multiple vendors (or from the Internet). Real-time market data vendors include Reuters RMDS, Bloomberg, and the Internet. DTS’s feedhandlers make that data available to authorised Excel users (subject to licensing). In this example the F/X dealer has set up a Quote Sheet as shown below with real-time data from a number of sources:
The F/X dealer takes in the real-time prices into his Excel sheet using ExPDA to request the records he needs and then he 'adds value' to the market prices before publishing the prices out to the sales team (again using ExPDA). The sheet is also configured to publish (in real-time) the deal size limits the F/X dealer will take from the sales team.
Each member of the sales team is given a 'Top of Book' Excel sheet like the one above which takes in the dealers real-time customer prices using ExPDA and displays them is a user friendly manner. Using the Admin module ExPDA controls who has access to those prices. This can be across the dealing room or across the world. Also incorporated in the sheet are the deal size limits the sales desk can quote on before referral back to the F/X dealer. For more information about ExPDA contact our Sales team.
