Configuring ExPDA to Request DataExPDA (Excel Publish/Display Application) has been developed by DTS to aid the real time sharing of data across an organisation.
For an example of a Bank dealer using ExPDA to provide real time F/X prices to the F/X Sales staff click on ExPDA F/X Example. Setting up or configuring the ExPDA is easy to do and yet it is extremely flexible and powerful. It involves three steps:
Step 1 Request DataTo start with a user will usually Request a real-time data record. This could be from any or all of the following:
Note that ExPDA does not have to be used with real-time data, it can be just an efficient way to update date across multiple Excel users. In the example below the user is adding the GBP/USD F/X record to Cell C10 ![]() Observe in the diagram above the user has right clicked the mouse. The 'Request Record...' option appears in the Excel right mouse click menu. The user selects 'Request Record...' and from the Excel menu the following dialogue will appear: ![]() This dialogue allows the Excel user to add real-time data to cells in their sheet. This will enable you to choose the datafeed and the record details. After adding value to the data itself, the user would then publish the data out to the ExPDA forwardhandler for others to subscribe to. Click on Step 2 Publish Data to continue the ExPDA configuration/set up description. For more information about ExPDA contact our Sales team.
